The city of Gladbeck takes the focus of its long -standing town twinning with Alanya and submits an application for a new street name. The "Social Alliance" faction (BIG and DKP) then submitted a proposal in the town hall to name a street after the Turkish city. This is another step towards strengthening international relations and cultural exchange that has been visible in Gladbeck for many years through several street racing.

The existing roads, which are named after international partner cities, are among other things the Marcq-en-baroeul-Straße in France and Schwechater Straße in Austria.
