In the summer of 2025, young people and young adults under the age of 28 can use the Germany ticket from Baden-Württemberg, Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate to travel to France. The initiative, which applies to the months of July and August, aims to promote cross -border mobility and support environmentally friendly travel. According to Südwest24 Germany ticket or the D-Ticket Jugendbw to Paris Gare de l’Est and get into the nearby Luxembourg.

An additional highlight is the use of French regional traffic, especially the Ter Fluo trains, which offer a comfortable connection. For trips from Strasbourg and Mulhouse to Paris, however, a reservation is required, which can be made via the SNCF Connect platform. In addition, various bus lines and regional trains offer connections to the French neighboring villages and cities.

travel options and restrictions

The campaign also includes the use of regional trains such as the RB 25 from Offenburg to Strasbourg and bus 231 from Rastatt to Soufflenheim/Seltz. An important restriction is that the Germany ticket is not valid on the tram between Kehl and Strasbourg: Here, travelers have to switch to the regional railway. In addition, city traffic and long-distance transport, including the TGV trains, are excluded from this campaign.

This applies primarily to trips between Paris and regional cities such as Strasbourg and Mulhouse. In addition, travelers are obliged to carry a valid ID with a proof of address to avoid misunderstandings.
