P&O Cruises: Arvia’s big cruise adventure is canceled!

P&O Cruises has canceled the cruise with the largest ship in the fleet, the Arvia, planned for August 30, 2026. This decision came due to “operational reasons” that have not yet been explained in detail. The Arvia, which entered service in 2022, was scheduled to embark on a two-week voyage from Southampton, the route of which included Spain, France and Italy.

The cancellation affects all discerning guests who had already booked for the cruise. P&O Cruises has announced that affected passengers will be contacted as soon as possible to discuss the changes. All payments will be fully refunded within 14 working days.

New options for travelers

To offer guests compensation, P&O Cruises has announced two new seven-night voyages to the Norwegian Fjords. These new voyages are expected to go on sale on June 4, 2025. Additionally, as a goodwill gesture, the company is offering £50 per person in future onboard credit if those affected book a new cruise by June 30, 2025.

P&O Cruises emphasizes that changes to schedules may occasionally be necessary. The company hopes to accommodate impacted guests through these new travel offerings and refunds while remaining focused on customer satisfaction. The Arvia, known for its size and modern amenities, remains a core part of P&O's fleet and will continue to offer attractive itineraries.
