Cruise Podcast: Tips for stress-free and new adventures!

In the latest episode of the Cruisetricks podcasts Franz Neumeier describes that he has an unusual voice due to a technical problem with the mixer's Windows driver. This issue was only noticed after several episodes were recorded, and re-recording these episodes was not an option. Neumeier announces that a new mixing console will be used in one of the next episodes. The topic will also be explored in greater depth in the aftershow.

In the episode, Jerome von Neumeier expects valuable tips for life on board a cruise ship. Although Neumeier can't offer any absolute insider tips, he does have some interesting ideas for reducing stress and improving the cruise experience. Cruise adventure in Greenland

Another interesting section of the podcast discusses the experiences of an expedition cruise with the Ocean Albatros in Greenland. This adventurous journey lasted a total of eleven nights and led from Kangerlussuaq to the south of Greenland to Iceland. The majority of the podcast recordings took place on board the Ocean Albatros, where exciting topics were covered such as the culture, the people, the impressive landscapes and the wildlife, including whales and icebergs.

Greenland, described as a “green land”, allows passengers to have close contact with villages and communities. On board, Dagmar Bünning, the shipping company's Germany representative, and Andreas Drobbner, a German passenger from Hamburg, contributed to the cultural enrichment of the trip. The expedition team consisted of 20 people and, according to Neumeier, offered very good service throughout the entire trip.

Criticism and outlook on the future

Despite the positive experiences, there were also some points of criticism. Internet speeds were perceived as slow, and the food did not quite live up to the high expectations that the trip's prices arouse. Changes are already planned for the upcoming 2025/26 Antarctic season to improve the experience for future passengers.

The aftershow also offers insights into Jerome's month-long stay in Thailand, which is not thematically linked to cruises. This personal experience shared in the podcast gives listeners another look at the hosts and their travels outside of cruising.
