Coconut Road – How to get to the famous Palm Tree Road in Siargao

A quick and easy travel guide to the famous Palm Road in Siargao Island, also known as Burgos Coconut Road.

Even on the flight to Siargao, the first thing you will probably notice is how completely this island is covered with different types of palm trees.

Palm Tree Road Siargao is one of the most famous places, not the island, to take amazing travel photos. It's also a really scenic road that you'll most likely ride down if you're already planning on exploring the island by bike.

In this quick guide, I'll cover everything you need to know about the famous Palm Street, including how to get there, what to expect and a few tips on how to take an unforgettable photo.

Via the famous Palm Street on Siargao

Okay, Siargao Palm Tree Road or Burgos Coconut Road isn't exactly a highlight or standout attraction. However, it is easily one of the most popular places to take photos.

If you are a photographer like me then you will really appreciate this place. The long, smooth concrete road leads directly past a field of coconut palms with almost perfect symmetry. In the background you can see more jungle-covered mountains. It's a really photogenic place and definitely one where you should fly your drone if you have one.

Below I outline the two ways to get to this legendary Palm Tree Road in Siargao.

Option 1: Siargao land tour

If you are short on time or want to explore a number of different Siargao highlights in a single day, booking the Siargao Land Tour is a good choice.

This is the most popular tour on the island and includes some must-do activities including:

• Kokosstraße
• Magpupungko-Felsbecken
• Gebogene Palmenschaukel

Option 2: Independent

For the independent explorers, rent a bike in General Luna for between 250 and 350 pesos per day. This is how I explored much of Siargao during my visits.

Getting to the Coconut Road in Siargao is easy and the roads on this stretch of General Luna are well maintained. The easiest way to get here is to simply enter the coordinates in the map below.

But what you want to do is go to the famous palm tree viewpoint and just walk about a kilometer down the hill.

Where is it?

Palm Tree Road Siargao is just a short 25-minute drive from General Luna (the main tourist center). You can find it between other attractions such as the Palm Tree Lookout and the famous Bent Palm Tree on the Maasin River.

The particular coconut road you're looking for is just a section of the Siargao Circumferential Road that winds around the island.

Tips for taking an epic photo

So you found the famous Palm Tree Road Siargao? Time to take some photos. Here are some tips to help you get a great shot
