Where is Grand Anse on La Digue?

Grand Anse is located in the southeast of La Digue. It can be reached via a jungle road that leads from L’Enunion, which means that you can ride your bike here.

Below I specified the exact location so that you can find it easier.

How do I get here

As you may already know, the best way to move on La Digue is renting a bike and exploring the area. You can rent one for around 100 SCR a day. I stayed in Chateau Street Cloud and she arranged a bike for me when I arrived.

For a directional description of L’ Union, the port side (west) of the island, where the L’Esion Estate and the famous Anse Source d’Argent are also located, drive inland to the street in the country, accessible via paved access roads. Follow him south from here. On the way there are a few hills to climb, but nothing too dramatic.

If you enter the place on the top of the map, you can easily find your way to Grand Anse.

What she expected in the Grand Anse La Digue

Grand Anse is my personal favorite beach on La Digue Island and maybe even everywhere on the Seychelles.
Alt = "Grand Anse La Digue Seychelles">
This beautiful white sandy beach falls into the deep, aquatic-blue water. Along the coast you can see high coconut palms over some small local huts that sell fresh fruit and cold Seybrew.

At the northern end of Grand Anse there is a far -reaching bunch of beautiful, weathered granite rocks that make this island so unique.

Behind Grand Anse is a short natural path that leads past a small lagoon. This area is rich in birds and very nice.

Sunrise viewpoint Grand Anse

When I visited Grand Anse on La Digue for the first time, I noticed the large granite rock heap at the northern end. It was immediately clear to me that I had to climb him to see the view from above. I was really overwhelmed by this viewpoint, so much that I decided to return to sunrise the next morning.

You can access this large granite chunk harvest by following the path directly behind the beach. As soon as you have reached the tip of a small hill, do not descend, but bend on the right. You have to use some bouldering skills to reach the top, but it's not too dramatic.

From the viewpoint you have the best view of the Grand Anse and the Petite Anse right next door! Alt = "rocky viewpoint at Grand Anse">

Continuation to Anse Songe (Anse Songe Trail)

If you are in the mood for a micro adventure, plan enough time to hike the Anse Songe Trail. This short, 1 -kilometer jungle path leads to the southern beach of Anse Songe. Only 150 meters in front of the bicycle parking lot on the Grand Anse you will find the starting point of the hiking trail on the right.

The path is easy to follow and there is only a short climb. As soon as you descend back to the shore, you will find a beautiful small remote beach that is hidden behind a large boulder. We continue to the Anse Songe, a white sandy beach covered with boulders, which leads in shallow, turquoise water.

Accommodation options on the island of La Digue

la Digue is a fairly small island and you can get anywhere within 20-30 minutes. You will find many hotels on the west side of the island near the jetty, but only a few along the narrow coastal road on the mostly inhabited east side.

on La Digue there is a large selection of hotel and resort offers that range from relatively "budget-friendly" self-catering lodges to incredible luxury resorts.

Below you will find a short summary of the best tips.

Amazing Chateau: Hotel Chateau St Cloud (mid -range) in the Chateau St Cloud I stayed on La Digue and I can personally recommend it as one of the best accommodation opportunities on the island. This three-star hotel is perfect as a mid-range option because the location is excellent-just a little outside the main quarter in a quiet street, which is close enough to the incredible beaches in the southwest and port. The employees are all very courteous and the breakfast buffet is great. The rooms are very spacious and the hotel even has a pool and a bar.

Hotel am Water: Le Nautique (high-end) as one of the best accommodations on the water on La Digue, Le Nautique is a luxurious offer that combines traditional Creole architecture with modern comfort such as king-size and rain showers. Here you can also discover a fantastic outdoor restaurant and a beautiful garden environment.

Self -catering: Dream Holiday (Budget) Dream Holiday Self Catering is located at the northern end of the island, very close to the ferry terminal. This location is great because they are near bicycle rows, snack shops and even supermarkets on the main street of La Digue. Dream Holiday offers queen rooms with air conditioning, TV, own bathroom and even a balcony. This is a great option when you visit La Digue with a small budget, while comfort and location still have a priority for you.
