Quang Ninh invests in 9 new golf courses: future of golf tourism!
Quang Ninh aims to establish itself as a leading golf tourism center in northern Vietnam. The province views golf tourism as an effective way to attract wealthy customers and promote economic growth. There are currently four international golf courses in operation in Quang Ninh: the FLC Golf Course and the Tuan Chau Golf Course in Ha Long, the Vinh Thuan Golf Course in Mong Cai and the Silk Path Dong Trieu Golf Course in Dong Trieu. These are in line with the province's general planning, which calls for a total of 22 golf courses by 2030 to increase the region's attractiveness as a tourist destination.
Planned golf courses and calls for investment
The project to create new golf courses is introduced by the Prime Minister's Decision No. 80/QD-TTg, published in February 2023. Future golf courses are planned in the Ha Long, Uong Bi, Van Don, Mong Cai, Tien Yen and Binh Lieu areas. Particularly noteworthy is the Ha Loan Island Golf Course, which is considered the largest project with an area of over 951 hectares. Various golf course projects are to be realized between 2025 and 2030.
Quang Ninh has also launched a call for investments in eight golf course projects, covering a total area of 2,200 hectares and requiring an investment volume of over VND13,000 billion. These include, among others:
- Cam Pha Golf Course (120 ha, 2.500 Milliarden VND)
- Ha Loan Island Golf Course (951 ha, 1.200 Milliarden VND)
- Tien Yen Golf Course (270 ha, 2.500 Milliarden VND)
- Cai Chien Golf Course (45 ha, 800 Milliarden VND)
- Binh Lieu Golf Course (171 ha, 2.000 Milliarden VND)
- Phuong Dong Golf Course (193.4 ha, 3.230 Milliarden VND)
- Bac Son Golf Course (70 ha, 282.8 Milliarden VND)
- An Bien Golf Course (180 ha, 700 Milliarden VND)
The province plans to harmonize approval processes to accommodate investors and thus promote golf course development. According to the Quang Ninh provincial government's plans, which were developed until 2030 and with a vision until 2050, a total of 20 golf courses are to be built.
Strategic goal and advantages of the region
With over 80% mountain settlement areas and more than 6,000 km of sea area, Quang Ninh offers natural advantages for golf course development. The province hopes to create a system of international standard golf courses and thereby further increase investment attractiveness.
Overall, Quang Ninh aims to present itself as an attractive destination for local and foreign tourists all year round. The focus is on providing quality services and world-class golf experiences to establish the province as a culinary and tourism hub in northern Vietnam.
