About Island Hopping in Siargao

All island hopping tours in Siargao are conducted on long-tail outrigger motorboats called Banka’s.

The three main islands you visit on a Siargao island hopping tour are: Daku Island, Naked Island and Guyam Island. These tropical islands are located just off the coast of General Luna and can be reached very quickly.

There are many tour operators who are very eager to sell you a tour. But unfortunately some are hit and miss (more details why below).

The good news is that the cheapest and most reliable tour can be booked online. The price is the same as that offered to you by the sellers in General Luna (always cheaper than the first offer).

As a bonus, this trip also includes pickup, drop-off, and a hearty lunch on the island!

Siargao Island Hopping Rates – the best package

As you would expect, tours on Siargao are very affordable. However, don't make the mistake of overpaying!

The updated prices for island hopping in Siargao are around $20 to $25 for a day trip. However, the average price on the street usually starts at around $30 to $35, which you will then have to haggle down.

The recommended trip (above) that I booked costs $23 and includes:

  • Abholung/Rückgabe vom Hotel
  • Daku-Insel
  • Guyam-Insel
  • Nackte Insel
  • Verleih von Schnorchelausrüstung
  • Herzhaftes Mittagessen
  • Englischsprachiger Führer

Pretty good value if you ask me!

Another thing to look for is quality boats. Unfortunately, there are some boats on Siargao that offer island hopping tours that really shouldn't be in the water! The last thing you want is engine failure ruining your trip.

Alternative: For those in a large group, you can rent a private island hopping excursion with boat and driver for the day for around 1500 pesos. This does not include lunch, a guide or any equipment.

Siargao Island Hopping Tour – What to Expect

With the logistics out of the way, let's dive into what awaits you on an epic Siargao island hopping adventure to Daku Island, Naked Island and Guyam Island!

Stop 1: Guyam Island

The first stop for us was Guyam Island. You can walk around this tiny piece of earth in about 3 minutes! Es ist fast eine perfekte runde Form, mit einem Feld von Kokospalmen in der Mitte und weißen Sandstränden um seinen Rand.

Inside Guyam Island there is a tiny little hut. Here you can buy a coconut for 50 pesos. The coconut palms provide perfect shade as the day warms up!

We spent about an hour on Guyam, swimming in the crystal clear waters, snorkeling on the fringing reef and lounging on the beach.

Guyam Island is an incredible private oasis and easily my favorite on this Siargao island hopping tour!

Stop 2: Naked Island

The second stop of our Siargao island hopping tour is Naked Island. This is a sand island with no plants. Surrounding its edge is a coral reef that stretches for a few hundred meters in front of a sharp drop-off.

Naked Island is approximately 90 meters long and although there may not be much to see, its simplicity is what this type of island is really all about! We spent another hour on Naked Island swimming, snorkeling and just relaxing on the sandy beaches.

Naked Island is great for drone photography. So if you have one, be sure to bring it with you. If your Siargao island hopping tour visits Naked Island to cap off the day, then you're in luck because I've also seen some epic aerial sunset photos from here!

Stop 3: Daku Island

The last island we visited while island hopping in Siargao was Daku Island. This is the largest island off General Luna and is the busiest. As you would expect from a Siargao island, there are lots of palm trees and crystal clear blue waters.

We were offered lunch on Daku Island which was a wide variety of fresh fruit, fish, rice and vegetable dishes. We all gathered on the beach and ate in the shelter of a bamboo hut.

To finish our Siargao island hopping, we climbed a few coconut trees and harvested a handful. We then traded our loot to a machete-wielding local in exchange for opening one of ours.

I am sure you will be absolutely blown away by Daku Island! While I picked Guyam as my favorite, Daku was a close second!
