Discover Albania: The TEA app brings culture and fun into the summer!

Summer in Albania is just around the corner and with it a variety of cultural events that make the country a unique travel destination. The tourist events calendar for the coming months is summarized in the TEA – Tourism Events of Albania – app. This app was launched by the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, to help visitors not miss any event or enjoyment opportunity across the country. Kumbaro expressly invites you to install the app and discover the wealth of offers.

The cultural and artistic activities in Albania are diverse and range from festivals and exhibitions to theater and music events. These events illustrate the creative spirit of both Albanian and international artists. Kumbaro emphasizes the importance of these activities for the country's tourism offer and calls on citizens to actively participate in them.

Cultural treasures and natural beauty

Albania, a country with an area of 28,748 km², is located on the Adriatic Sea and borders Greece, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo. It is separated from Italy by an 80 km wide strip of sea. With a population of about 2.8 million people, over 500,000 of whom live in the capital Tirana, it is an emerging tourist destination. Albania is known for its stunning beaches, diverse landscapes and rich cultural treasures.

The Albanian landscape is characterized by mountains, two thirds of which are over 1,000 meters high. The highest mountain in the country, Jezerca, rises to 2,694 meters. The Albanian Alps in the north and the Mediterranean coastal regions in particular attract those seeking peace and quiet, romantics and backpackers. In addition, the coasts with lagoons in the north and the Albanian Riviera in the south are popular holiday destinations.

Nature and wildlife

Nature offers glimpses of a rich wildlife, including bears, wolves and golden eagles, considered the heraldic animal of Albania. The climatic differences are also remarkable: while the coast has hot summers and mild winters, the mountainous regions have cold, snowy winters and pleasant summers.

Albania also boasts numerous sights such as the ancient site in the Butrint National Park, the mountain lake Syri i Kaltër, also known as the “Blue Eye”, and the cities of Gjirokaster and Berat, which impress with their historical buildings. The city of Gjirokaster, also known as the “City of Stones,” and Berat, the “City of a Thousand Windows,” are just some of the cultural highlights that attract tourists.

Albania sees itself as a unique, yet unknown travel destination with a wide range of holiday options. The combination of rich culture, picturesque nature and exciting events, as summarized in the TEA app, has contributed to the country becoming increasingly visible to international travelers in recent years. Albania's properties and events provide a perfect backdrop for unforgettable experiences.
