AIDA Cruises is changing the 2025/2026 winter routes of the AIDAprima: focus on Scandinavia and the Canary Islands due to safety concerns.

AIDA changes winter timetable: Scandinavia and Canary Islands instead of the Orient!
AIDA Cruises has changed the winter schedule for the “AIDAprima” at short notice. Between October 2025 and April 2026, the ship will not sail through the Orient as originally planned. Instead, the shipping company focuses on destinations in Scandinavia and along the European west coast to offer guests a safe alternative. This measure comes due to the tense situation in the Middle East, which has resulted in the cancellation of all planned cruises in this region. Safety for passengers and crew remains the top priority, which is why transfer trips via South Africa are no longer necessary.
The first trips from the new timetable can already be booked, and further offers will follow on August 11th. The new routes include the trip to “Southern Norway from Kiel”, which will take place from November 22nd to 29th, 2025 and will take you via the cities of Bergen, Stavanger, Kristiansand and Oslo. The price for this cruise in the premium tariff starts at 660 euros per person.
Attractive new routes
Another highlight is the “Norway’s Fjords World Heritage” route, which runs from October 3rd to 12th, 2025. Prices start at 1,195 euros per person. A trip to the Baltic Sea is planned for the 2025 Christmas season, traveling to Stockholm, Helsinki and Tallinn from December 20th to 27th. The price for this cruise starts at 1,080 euros per person.
Additionally, AIDA offers a 23-day cruise to the Canary Islands, called the “Great Winter Break.” This trip takes place from January 9th to February 1st, 2026, prices start at 2,485 euros per person, also for double occupancy in an inside cabin.
Special offers on board
Families can look forward to special offers on board the “AIDAprima”, including a family restaurant and comprehensive child care. The ship's equipment enables leisure activities independent of the weather to make the holiday even more pleasant for the little guests. Christmas markets will also be open during your travels in Norway, which makes traveling during Advent particularly inviting.
In a further step, AIDA Cruises is currently offering a voucher worth ten percent of the travel price for future cruises to give travelers additional planning security. Travelers with affected bookings will also receive an alternative offer and the voucher, which can be redeemed until September 30, 2025. AIDA plans to expand Kiel as a year-round base for cruises, and additional trips will start from Hamburg to the Norwegian coasts and Western European cities from October 2025.
These adjustments demonstrate AIDA Cruises' commitment to offering guests exceptional experiences despite current uncertainties. The shipping company relies on an offer that is appealing to both families and adventure seekers, thereby demonstrating flexibility in challenging times.
