Hotel Aviva: Austria's flagship project for sustainable tourism!

The Hotel Aviva in Austria has established itself as a showcase project in the field of sustainable tourism. Today it was announced that it has been included in Austria Advertising's “Sustainability in Austria” publication. Loud Aviation Direct This publication honors a total of 48 innovative projects that are reshaping the Austrian tourism sector.

The inclusion of the Hotel Aviva confirms its participation in a future-oriented tourism approach. A central element of its strategy is the “greenAviva” program, which aims to make hotel operations environmentally friendly without compromising the comfort and quality of the experience for guests. Owner Christian Grünbart spoke about the hotel's experiences at various specialist events, including the 2nd Sustainable Tourism Summit Austria, which took place in Bregenz from June 3rd to 4th, 2025.

Commitment to environmental protection

Hotel Aviva is actively committed to environmental protection and pursues various sustainable initiatives. A new photovoltaic system enables sustainable electricity generation and covers around 70% of the hotel's annual electricity requirements. This system consists of a 440 kWp system on the roof of the parking lot and a 63 kWp system on the hotel roof. A 32,000 liter rainwater cistern was also installed, which supplies the hotel's laundry and significantly reduces drinking water consumption.

Environmentally conscious holidays are also promoted by using regional and seasonal products in the kitchen to minimize transport routes. In addition, the hotel only uses biodegradable cleaning products and ensures responsible waste management through well-thought-out waste management with waste separation and recycling stations. The entire commitment was awarded the Austrian Ecolabel and the EU Ecolabel.

Innovative business management

As part of its operations, Hotel Aviva has also taken measures to reduce CO2 emissions. A pellet heating system ensures a sustainable supply of heat and hot water in the hotel. An intelligent heating control system is also used, which automatically reduces the temperatures in unused rooms.

The work organization in the hotel was also optimized, so that a 4-day working week was introduced, which saves employees traveling around 2,000 km per month. The hotel also offers guests electric vehicles, such as the Mercedes Benz EQA, which can be charged at six charging stations.

Further information about the hotel's sustainability activities is available on the Hotel website and can be found on social media. The Hotel Aviva remains a pioneer in the Austrian tourism sector and sets standards for future developments in the industry.
