Austria's 2023/24 winter season is showing encouraging developments. How Linza reported that the number of guests increased by 2.8% compared to the previous year. The increase is particularly notable in April 2024, where overnight stays grew by 23.9%.
In Upper Austria, however, there is mixed news. The state only achieved 3.179 million overnight stays in the winter of 2023/24, which corresponds to a decline of 2%. Despite these declines, the number of domestic guests remained constant at 1.958 million, while international visitors fell 2% to 1.221 million. Interestingly, domestic holidaymakers make up almost 62% of overnight stays in Upper Austria, in contrast to Tyrol, where less than 7% of guests come from Austria.
