The reason for this unexpected change was a medical emergency on board. According to Cruise news Officials confirmed that a person was handed over to shore by the AIDAbella between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. The patient was subsequently transferred to a Norwegian hospital.
The AIDAbella had started from Kiel and was on its way to Eidfjord when the detour to Kristiansand became necessary. After about 30 minutes in port, the ship continued its journey towards Eidfjord, where arrival is scheduled for May 18, 2025. The AIDAbella is stationed in Kiel in the current summer season and carries out numerous short trips to Scandinavia, while also offering 14-day cruises to Norway, the Baltic Sea region and Great Britain from the end of May to mid-October.
