Next weekend, more specifically on May 24, 2025, Queen Letizia and King Felipe of Spain will travel to Wales to take part in an important family event. The reason for this is the graduation of her daughter Princess Sofia, who will receive her last certificate at UWC Atlantic College on this day at 2:30 p.m. This prestigious school, described by the British newspaper The Guardian as a “Hogwarts for peace activists,” has brought Sofia not only academic success but also valuable life experiences over the past two years.
The graduation ceremony will be broadcast live on the UWC Atlantic College YouTube channel, allowing family and friends to watch the ceremony. The Spanish royals are also expected to take photos of this special moment and then publish them. Sofia graduated from school with “good grades,” while her older sister, Crown Princess Leonor, has already begun military training on the training ship “Juan Sebastián de Elcano.”
A special occasion in the family circle
The private trip to Wales also coincides with another personal milestone for the couple. On May 22, 2025, Queen Letizia (52) and King Felipe (57) celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary. Instead of celebrating in a big and public way, they decided to focus their time and energy on their daughter Sofia's graduation.
