The Toggenburg was able to fight its way to the top again and was awarded the Swiss Holiday Home Award 2025. The region had already won the coveted award last year, which underlines the continuity of the high quality of holiday accommodation. Loud Aargauer Zeitung The ranking is based on the reviews of guests who book their accommodations via the “E-Domizil” platform. In 2025, Toggenburg took first place in its category, while surpassing well-known competitors such as Obwalden, Viamala and Heidiland.
The region achieved an impressive overall rating of 4.9 out of 5 possible points. The ratings in the categories of cleanliness with 4.94 points and external impression with 4.92 points were particularly noteworthy. These high values show the efforts of the hosts and the excellent quality of the holiday apartments in Toggenburg. The award is based on the average of guest reviews from 2024.
Categorized awards
There are three categories for the Swiss Holiday Home Award 2025 based on the number of reviews. The Toggenburg won in the medium category, which is between 150 and 300 ratings. Last year, the region achieved a rating of 4.88 points and also took first place. In the smaller category with 70 to 150 ratings, victory went to Sörenberg-Flühli in Lucerne, while the Engadin won the largest category with over 300 ratings.
The Toggenburg award is given by Toggenburg Tourism and E-Domizil, the largest online platform for holiday accommodation in Switzerland. Thousands of guest reviews from over 6,800 holiday properties in Switzerland were evaluated for this award, which underlines the importance of the award.
Special pride for the region
With this award, the Toggenburg not only won first place in its category, but also left behind important destinations such as Davos Klosters, Surselva, Flims-Laax-Falera and Adelboden-Lenk-Kandersteg. This is a remarkable achievement, especially considering that the region came in fifth place last year. The increasing guest ratings show an improvement of 0.17 points compared to the previous year, which together with the Bellinzona e Valli region is the largest increase.
Eastern Switzerland also once again took second place in the “Swiss Region” category. The Toggenburg Tourism team is pleased with the award and sees itself encouraged in its efforts to improve the quality and attractiveness of the region.
