LIDL surprises with a luxury cruise to the oriental paradise!

With a new cruise offer, the supermarket chain LIDL is causing a stir and, in some cases, horror in the travel industry. The cooperation with AIDA offers a 14-day all-inclusive trip from €1,999 per person, which includes both flights and several overnight stays as well as a number of excursions. The trip starts in Frankfurt and first goes to Dubai before continuing to Muscat, where a return journey also takes place via Frankfurt. The offer is valid until June 30, 2025 and promises a stress-free holiday experience thanks to LIDL's extensive all-inclusive services.

The booking includes transfers according to the itinerary as well as seven nights on board the AIDAprima with full board. In addition, five nights in the 4-star Hotel Aloft Muscat with half board are included. The excursion package offers entrance fees worth around 800 euros per double room and includes numerous interesting tours, such as a half-day trip in Muscat with a visit to the Bait al Zubair Museum and other experiences in the area, such as a jeep tour through the Wahiba Desert.

Travel destinations and highlights

The journey leads to fascinating destinations in the Orient. In Dubai you can visit the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, as well as the impressive Dubai Mall and the Dubai Museum. The city is known for its contrasts between modern skyscrapers and traditional Bedouin culture. Other destinations include Abu Dhabi with the impressive Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Sir Bani Yas Island and Manama in Bahrain, where the National Museum can be visited.

  • Dubai (Burj Khalifa, Burj al Arab, optionale Wüstensafari)
  • Abu Dhabi (Scheich Zayed Moschee, Emirates Palace, Louvre Abu Dhabi)
  • Sir Bani Yas Island (Arabian Wildlife Park)
  • Manama (Bahrain National Museum, Al-Fateh-Moschee)
  • Muscat (Grand Mosque, Al Alam Palace, Muttrah Souq)
  • Wadi Bani Khalid und Wahiba Sands (Baden, Jeepsafari)
  • Nizwa und Umgebung (Nizwa Fort, Bahla Fort, Jabrin Castle)

Cruise in the Persian Gulf

The cruise departs from the vibrant port of Dubai, a central starting point for travel in the Persian Gulf. The region is known for its year-round summer weather and offers many attractions. Belgian German citizens do not need a visa for Dubai and most Arab Emirates for stays of up to 90 days, while Bahrain and Oman require a visa, which can be applied for online. For cruises, we recommend staying for at least a week in order to fully experience the beauty and diversity of the region.

The trip not only offers exciting experiences, but also an excellent opportunity to explore the cultural and scenic treasures of the Orient. As tour operators analyze the response to the offer, it remains to be seen how travelers will react to this combination of luxury and affordability.
