For German citizens abroad, the risk of becoming victims of acts of terrorist violence could increase. An increased threat can be expected in places with symbolic character, such as sights, government buildings or in transport infrastructure. However, the risk of terrorist attacks is low compared to other travel risks.

Travelers should be aware of the risks and act safety-conscious. Suspicious occurrences, such as unattended luggage, should be reported to local security authorities immediately.
