Adventure on two wheels: Justin Berg's epic trip to Manila!
Minden, Deutschland - Justin Berg, an adventurer from Sulingen, realized a remarkable part of his dreams with his impressive bike tour under the title "Road to Manila". He started in December 2023 from his hometown and covered an impressive 12,000 kilometers in 329 days, crossing 15 countries. On June 10, 2025, Berg has been living in Manila, Philippines for about four weeks, where he has accommodated his aunt and family. The tour ended successfully, and he was received by a police scale and other cyclists on arrival, which underlined the end of his odyssey trip.
During his one -year trip, Berg experienced numerous adventures, but was also confronted with challenges. His biggest hurdle was the start of the trip and the loneliness that he often felt during his tour. A special experience was the hospitality that gave him in Iran; She exceeded all of his expectations. To travel safely, Berg Myanmar gave up due to the political situation there and instead chose the path of Kathmandu, Nepal, to Bangkok, Thailand.
multimedia lecture and culinary insights
On Friday, June 13th, Justin Berg will give a multimedia lecture in the Bärenkärpen meeting center in Minden. The lecture begins at 5:30 p.m. and admission is free. Another remarkable detail of his trip is satisfaction with his equipment. Despite the challenge of combining parts of the bicycle from different countries - such as pedals from Pakistan and a bell from Serbia - his bike survived well.
Future plans and return thoughts
Although Berg now lives in Manila, he plans to stay longer and possibly spend a year there. He wants to learn the national language tagalog and get to know his family better. In addition, he already has concrete plans to return to Sulingen to keep a presentation about his journey. In the future, he sees himself able to go on further bike tours, to give lectures, to write books and even to make films. He emphasizes that you should follow your dreams without waiting for the perfect time.
The inspiring journey from Justin Berg, which goes hand in hand with the self -discovery and a strong message about determination and adventure desire, is an encouragement for everyone who dreams of crossing their own limits.
