Danger to life in Israel: Foreign Office warns of travel!

Tel Aviv, Israel - The political tensions in the region are dramatically increasing. After numerous military conflicts between Israel and Iran, the Foreign Office pronounced a travel warning for Israel and surrounding countries. In particular, an acute danger to life is reported for the urban population and international institutions in Israel

The warnings affect not only Israel, but also several neighboring countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Jordan. In response to the escalating situation, the Federal Government activated the crisis team of the Federal Foreign Office, which continuously observed the situation and coordinates possible evacuations for German citizens.

military attacks between Israel and Iran

The conflicts between Israel and Iran have increased in intensity in the past few days. On June 14, 2025, it was reported that Israel shot at an airport in Tehran. This is part of a series of attacks that both sides have carried out against the other. Iran reacted with the shooting of dozens of rockets to Israeli territory, with many of these rockets being intercepted by Israel's air defense.

Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Iran that attacks on civilian goals of a "very high price" would have a result of Tehran. There were reports to be victims of numerous Jewish civilians in Israel during these military escalations. In particular, areas around Tel Aviv were affected, where sirens howled and there were numerous strokes. At least three people were killed in these attacks, many more injured.

regional effects and international reactions

The situation remains tense because Israel plans further military strikes against Iran, especially against Iranian oil systems in the event of renewed attacks on Israeli population centers. In turn, Tehran has threatened with devastating retaliation on important economic and energy centers in Israel. Since the beginning of the military conflicts, at least 78 people, including high -ranking military and nuclear scientists, have been killed in Israeli attacks.

In the middle of these tensions, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria have opened their air spaces again for civil air traffic, while Iraq keeps its airspace up to a certain point in time. The international community, including UN General Secretary António Guterres, calls for de-escalation and describes the situation as worrying.

German citizens are advised to enter the crisis priority list of Elefand and to follow the instructions of the messages closely to ensure their own security.
