Slovakia magic: Tourism office in Israel brings a new wave of travel!

A new impulse for tourism between Slovakia and Israel: SLOVAKIA TRAVEL has reopened its permanent representative in Tel Aviv after a break. Gabriela Madrová has been heading this foreign mission since May 2025 in order to increase the visibility of Slovakia as an attractive holiday destination. Israel represents a significant source market for Slovak tourism, particularly for leisure and therapeutic experiences. This development was also supported by Matej Fekete, General Director of SLOVAKIA TRAVEL, who emphasized that the new presence will significantly boost inbound tourism. In addition, the advantages of Slovakia, which is considered a safe travel destination, are increasingly highlighted.

Slovakia offers a variety of recreational opportunities, which are particularly characterized by its natural resources. With nearly 2,000 thermal and mineral springs, the country attracts many Israeli visitors to its spas. These spas are known for their healing properties and are specifically promoted to increase the attractiveness of Slovakia. In addition to wellness offerings, SLOVAKIA TRAVEL also highlights UNESCO World Heritage sites as well as historic castles, charming mansions and impressive cave systems.

Strategic measures to promote tourism

Another step to promote tourism is to participate in IMTM 2025, the largest tourism fair in the Mediterranean, where SLOVAKIA TRAVEL presented the country's various offers. Israeli tour operators and agencies showed great interest in cooperation with Slovak partners. The trade fair represented a valuable platform for exchange and networking, which forms the basis for later collaborations.

In order to further improve travel connections, direct flights from Tel Aviv to Bratislava and Piešťany will be offered from the end of May 2025. This is a crucial step to increase accessibility for Israeli travelers and ease transit between both countries.

Slovakia as a top travel destination in 2025

The positive perception of Slovakia as a travel destination was reinforced by the award from LONELY PLANET, which included the country in its list of TOP 10 travel destinations for 2025. This is evidence not only of the quality of tourism offerings, but also of the progress Slovakia has made in international tourism. By restoring representation in Israel, SLOVAKIA TRAVEL aims to develop new tourism potential and further promote bilateral cultural exchange.

In conclusion, SLOVAKIA TRAVEL's initiative, together with the newly appointed leadership team in Tel Aviv, lays the foundation for a new chapter in Slovak tourism, which could both revitalize inbound tourism from Israel and strengthen Slovak culture abroad.
