Diploma celebration in Thun: Young talent of the tourism industry celebrates success!
On May 22, 2025, the higher technical school for tourism in Thun celebrated the graduation of the graduates in the Hotel Deltaark. In a festive ceremony, the students received their degree as “dipl. Tourism specialist HF »and« Dipl. Tourism specialist HF ». This several months of journey, which included a lot of knowledge and experience in the field of tourism, both in Switzerland and internationally, now found its festive highlight.
Stefan Otz, the owner and director of the school, reflected on the two-year study period, which was shaped by learning and abroad experiences, including two seminars in Morocco and Rwanda. Verena Imhof, the vice director of the school, emphasized the importance of relationship design for learning and study success. The graduates not only made specialist knowledge, but also valuable contacts.
recognition for outstanding services
Special recognition received Elias Gemperli, who was awarded grade 5.7 for his diploma thesis. His topic was: "How can ski -dependent winter offers increase the attractiveness and utilization of small mountain railway companies?", Which was created on order of Wierihornbahnen AG in the Diemttal. At the price he received a voucher for over 500 francs. Melanie Reinhard received the second best diploma with grade 5.4, who was happy to receive a book voucher.
The celebration was musically framed by the band Bearbeat. Florian Trachsel, Vice President of ODEC Switzerland, addressed a few words to the audience and entertained the guests with humorous anecdotes from the study. In addition, three students shared their personal experiences and memories from the time at the school, which loosened up the celebration and made for many laughs.

The graduates of the HFT Graubünden also celebrated a special degree. On June 17, 2023, 54 graduates gathered in Silvaplana to graduate as a dipl. Celebrate tourism specialist/man HF. Around 200 guests took part in the event, which was organized by a student OK from the pensioner Event Management.
Ursula Oehy Bubel, the Rector of HFT Graubünden, emphasized the relevance of co-creation in the world of work. Martin Vincenz, CEO Graubünden holidays, encouraged the graduates to pursue their passion and to follow their inner common thread. Special honors were awarded in various pollution directions, which underlined the high quality of the course in this region.
The celebrations of the higher technical schools for tourism not only illustrate the success of the graduates, but also the labor market ability that they bring as future tourism professionals. This is reflected in the numerous honors and the high satisfaction of the students who are preparing for a promising career in tourism.
