I have dedicated this post to share some photos of Whitehaven Beach. Whitehaven Beach is a 7 km long sandy beach on the east coast of Whitsunday Island, Queensland, Australia.

It is generally considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. This is due to its unique, pearly white sand and crystal clear water. I was lucky enough to spend a fair amount of time in the Whitsundays on my east coast sailing trip, which enabled me to capture footage of this true Australian icon of sea, sky and sand.

Arrival to Whitehaven Beach

Since Whitehaven Beach is on an island, you'll need to take a ferry, boat, or plane to get there. There are ferry companies that transport people from Airlie Beach and Hamilton Island every day.

Since it's quite a distance to reach from the mainland, the trip here costs between 140 and 230 Australian dollars.

If you're in Airlie, I highly recommend booking a trip with Thunder Cat, which is one of the most popular and quickest ways to get there. It is also one of the most cost-effective options to get to Whitehaven Beach as the trip also includes:

What is the best time to visit Whitehaven Beach?

When is the best time to visit Whitehaven Beach? The best month to visit Whitehaven Beach is September. This is due to higher water temperatures, warm days and the lowest amounts of precipitation.

However, it is possible to visit Whitehaven Beach all year round. The high season for sailing and cruising in the Whitsunday Islands is between May and September.

Aside from that, the legendary Whitsundays are known as a year-round holiday destination, meaning you'll love your visit at any time of the year.
