Yes, after less than a week of Clifden being put on the market, one very lucky lady was able to snap up Clifden for her own adventures in Australia. Honestly, we had no idea we would sell our van, our first home, so quickly. We put Clifden on the market because we thought we wouldn't get much interest given how remote Tasmania is.

Boy, were we wrong. Within a week we had inquiries from all over Australia. We had four people dying to come and see Hobart, but one lucky buyer was just 15 minutes away, saw our van and decided to message us after a long night shift. A few days later we said a tearful goodbye, packed our backpacks once again and boarded a plane to Far North Queensland.

We were shocked at how quickly things had moved. Unfortunately there were a few final things on our Tassie list that time didn't allow. We didn’t get a chance to drive to Frenchman’s Cap or hike over The Overland. But in the end we followed our gut feeling and decided to leave them for the next trip to Tasmania.

take farewell

Selling our first home after all the hard work building it and the incredible memories we had made was not an easy decision. Still, after living out of a backpack for most of our adult lives, we've learned not to get too attached to material possessions. But still, Clifden was our ticket to freedom during the most uncertain times of our lives. While the pandemic upended our lifestyle and business, this van allowed us to continue to explore, grow and create lifelong memories.

We would like to thank Clifden for all the great times and we would like to thank everyone who helped us build our journey and all the amazing people we met along the way!

So just like that, Australian van life has come to an end. What's the plan now, you may ask?

We have arrived back in sunny Far North Queensland and plan to work out the steps required to return overseas. We still have an international work visa, an exemption that we were able to obtain because traveling is our job. However, given the current climate, we have some hurdles to overcome.

For those of you who have followed our van life journey from the beginning, thank you for sticking around. I hope I've helped you with some adventure ideas down in Tassie.
