Hike to the Twin Falls Waterfall in the Springbrook National Park
Hiking to the Twin Falls Waterfall is one of my favorite day trips near the Gold Coast. Southeast Queensland has no lack of epic outdoor adventures. If you are looking for several waterfalls after a great day hike, you shouldn't miss Twin Falls or the Springbrook National Park.
How to come to the Twin Falls Circuit
In order to get from the Gold Coast or Brisbane to the Twin Falls Circuit, a car or transport to the Springbrook National Park is required. It is a long picturesque ride over the hills and deep into the subtropical rainforest.
To start hike to the Twin Fall waterfall, make your way to the Tallanbana Picnic Area. Here you can leave your car and hike to the twin waterfall. The entire route is only 4 km long and leads on waterfalls, rivers and into the subtropical rainforest. The hike is pretty simple, with well -marked signs along the way.
Hiking to the waterfalls
If you can, I would definitely recommend doing this hike on a rainy day or a rainy week. I went this hike on perfect days, but on days with constant downpour, the landscape turns into dozens of waterfalls. The twin cases are also much stronger and more impressive when it has rained.
Twin cases
After about 15 minutes you can reach the main waterfall. It is about 30 m high and has a deep freshwater pool underneath. Although it can get pretty cold, it is definitely a good swimming area in summer. You can also walk around the waterfall to see it from behind.

The best viewpoint
On the way back from the racetrack, it is difficult to overlook the signs to the viewpoint called "Best of All Lookout". Fascinated by the suggestive title, we took the detour on the way back to look at it.
The parking lot is located near a radio tower on a large hill with a view of the national park. After leaving the parking lot, follow the signs for a short 15-minute walk through the path.
Depending on the day and degree of the fog blanket, you may be rewarded with a panoramic view of the old crater of the supervulkan. You can even see up to the coast and some of the famous skylines from Surfer’s Paradise. Unfortunately, I visited this viewpoint three times and were only lucky once, as the entire view blocked the entire view of the other thick fog.
