Discover Cornwall's rugged beauty: travel report and tips!
Cornwall lies in the picturesque southwest of England with its rugged coastlines and impressive landscapes. Known from the novels by Rosamunde Pilcher and the bestseller “The Salt Trail” by Raynor Winn, the region attracts visitors with its unique beauty and rich culture. Parts of the prequel “House of Dragon” were filmed on Cornwall's coast, further increasing the popularity of this region. The South West Coast Path, an official National Trail, offers walkers the opportunity to experience the diversity of this stunning landscape along 1,014km of trails from Minehead in Somerset to Poole Harbor in Dorset, with the route passing through Devon and Cornwall.
The South West Coast Path was originally created by coastal defense officers to patrol against smugglers. Today it is one of the most walked routes in Great Britain and has been voted “Britain’s Best Walking Route” twice. The path leads through idyllic fishing villages, enchanting bays, breathtaking cliffs and sociable seaside resorts and offers a rich wildlife with fur seals, dolphins and seals. If you want to experience the beauty of Cornwall, the best time to visit is between May and October.

Culinary delights and local attractions
Cornish culinary specialties such as Cornish pasties, local seafood and clotted cream further enrich the experience. A mid-range meal costs around £15-30, while drinks cost between £4 and £8. In addition to the excellent dining options, there are also many local attractions, such as Tintagel Castle, the Eden Project or St. Michael's Mount, which highlight the region's cultural heritage.
For nature lovers, the region is also a paradise with numerous opportunities to observe wildlife. Anyone who hikes the South West Coast Path will be rewarded with impressive views of the coast and encounters with various animal species.
