Book recovery: Ho Chi Minh's secret years in Thailand celebrate 135 years!

Khon Kaen, Thailand - Today, on May 19, 2025, the book "Onkel Ho in Thailand" will be published to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh's 135th birthday. This publication provides insights into his revolutionary career and is published by Vietnam Education Publishing House in cooperation with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen, Thailand. The book is bilingual, both in Vietnamese and Thai, and pursues the non -commercial goal of spreading the historical and humanistic values ​​of Ho Chi Minh.

The author, Ha Lam Danh, collected authentic historical documents on Ho Chi Minh's activities in Thailand from July 1928 to November 1929. The translation into Thai was under the direction of Dr. Soonthorn Phannatara and teacher Le Quoc VI (Thawee Rungrotkajonkul), which serves to preserve and spread the Vietnamese Thailändische Language and Culture within the Vietnamese community in Thailand.

Ho Chi Minh's legacy in Thailand

Ho Chi Minh lived in Thailand as a Vietnamese revolutionary soldier under the lid name Thau Chin. He quickly developed the trust of the locals, just lived and worked hard. Nevertheless, he was also exposed to persecution by French spies. Thanks to the protection of the Vietnamese and the locals, however, he was able to continue his political activities unhindered.

His activities in Thailand had a significant influence on the life of the Vietnamese living abroad. He actively contributed to the establishment of schools and thus promoted education within his community. Relics of Ho Chi Minh in Thailand are caught by the local government and the Vietnamese community there in cities such as Udon Thani, Phichit and Nakhon Phanom. The image of Ho Chi Minh remains alive in the hearts of the Vietnamese and Thai.

a remarkable life story

Ho Chi Minh, born in 1890 as Nguyen Sinh Cung, was the son of an official. In the course of his life he changed the name several times and finally called himself the 51 years of Ho Chi Minh, which means "the one who brings enlightenment". In his youth he worked as a sailor and traveled to America. In 1917 he came to Paris, where he accepted various occasional jobs.

As a founding member of the French Communist Party in 1920, he was actively involved in spreading communist ideas. Ho Chi Minh spent a lot of time abroad, traveled through China, Western Europe, Thailand and Hong Kong. In 1930 he founded the "Communist Party of Indochina", which was later renamed "Vietnam's Communist Party". His political activities led to multiple arrests, including an indictment for turmoil and an arrest by the British police in Hong Kong, where he spent a year in custody.

After 30 years abroad, Ho Chi Minh returned to his home country Vietnam in 1941 to lead the independence struggle against Japan and France. He called the "Democratic Republic of Vietnam" on September 2, 1945 and became its first president. Ho Chi Minh experienced the Vietnamese War and its political strategies shaped Vietnam's history until his death in 1969
