Vietnamese Bodybuilding Championship: 300 athletes in action!
On May 28, 2025, the opening ceremony of the 32nd National Bodybuilding Club Championship in Vietnam was held. This event, which runs from May 27th to 31st, will see the participation of 300 athletes from 20 bodybuilding clubs. Competitions are held in over 40 categories, including men's and women's bodybuilding, mixed doubles, and fitness and athletic physique. The aim of the championship is to promote talented athletes and to enable professional exchange.
Particularly gratifying was the awarding of the Vietnamese bodybuilding team with the President's Work Medal First Class and the Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. These honors recognize the significant contributions of coaches and athletes to Vietnamese sports in 2024.
Key points of the championships
The championship also includes the 2025 National Youth Bodybuilding Championship, which will take place June 2-4. Here 9 sports delegations and 120 young athletes from different provinces and cities will take part to measure their skills in 24 disciplines and discover new talents.
The preparations for the current competitions took place against the backdrop of a successful year for Vietnamese bodybuilders. Vietnamese athletes achieved remarkable achievements at the 55th Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship held in Kathmandu, Nepal on September 4, 2023. In a strong field of participants, with 236 athletes from 17 countries, they won three gold medals and several other medals in other categories.
International successes
Among the gold medalists was Bui Dac Phi Vu, who triumphed in the men's 55kg category. He beat Suresh Duwal from Nepal and Azri Win Asmat Sefri from Malaysia. Tran Thi Thanh Tam and Nguyen Thi Kim Cuong also won gold in the women's Fitness Physique up to 165 cm and over 165 cm categories, respectively. Overall, the Vietnamese team also achieved one silver and three bronze medals.
The Vietnamese bodybuilders not only show remarkable achievements at the national level, but also shine internationally and consolidate Vietnam's reputation in the sport of bodybuilding. The upcoming championships offer an excellent platform to continue to showcase the high level and potential of the athletes.
