Golf and tourism on the rise: Vietnam sets new standards in 2025!

A significant event is coming up in Vietnam that could have a significant impact on the future of golf tourism and the golf economy in the country. The Healthcare Tourism Week – Vietnam Golf Festival will take place at the end of October 2025 at the Laguna Lang Co Golf Resort. The event is expected to attract over 200 delegates from ten countries and territories, including prominent representatives such as Vietnamese Tourism Ambassador Greg Norman and leading golf course management companies. The event is organized by several institutions, including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as well as the Hue City People's Committee and 54 Vietnam Company Limited.

The main aim of the event is to promote a discussion on the sustainable development of the tourism and golf industries in Vietnam. This conference is considered a turning point for the development of sports tourism in the period from 2025 to 2030, as well as with a long-term vision until 2040. The focus is particularly on promoting Vietnam's attractiveness as an international golf destination and creating uniform standards for ecologically sustainable developments.

Vietnam Golf Course Owners Summit 2025

An important part of Healthcare Tourism Week is the Vietnam Golf Course Owners Summit 2025 (VNGOS 2025), which will also take place at the Laguna Lăng Cô Resort on October 30th and 31st. This summit is considered a fundamental milestone for the sustainable development of golf tourism. Golf course owners, government representatives, international experts and global partners will come together to develop a unified vision and development standards.

The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism has already discussed organizational plans for this summit. The event is classified as part of the Wellness Tourism Week under the National Tourism Year in Hue 2025. The event will not only address strategic issues such as positioning Vietnam as a leading golf destination in Asia, but also the development of 100 new golf courses and a Vietnam National Golf Star Rating System that will standardize service quality in the golf sector.

Positive developments in tourism

Vietnam recorded nearly 14 million international visitors in the first eight months of 2025, up 21% year-on-year. Golf tourism is increasingly seen as a key product that not only attracts luxury visitors but also boosts the local economy in areas such as accommodation, hospitality, trade and real estate.

In addition to the main sessions of the summit, there will be a gala dinner as well as the Vietnam Golf Industry Awards, which will recognize the contribution of individual stakeholders to the development of the golf industry. Following the conference, an Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) golf tournament will be held in early November at the Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Resort, designed by Sir Nick Faldo and known for harmonizing natural terrain with environmental protection.

The events as part of the Vietnam Golf Festival will not only strengthen the golf economy, but also improve Vietnam's international image as an attractive golf destination. Vietnam.vn and AGIF Both report on the relevance and positive orientation of this initiative.
