Hanoi's best: Michelin awards for popular restaurants 2025!
Nguyen Trung Truc Straße, Bezirk 1, Ho-Chi-Minh-Stadt, Vietnam - On June 10, 2025, the Michelin guide published the list of excellent restaurants in Vietnam, which are recommended for 2025. Among the cities represented in this list are Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh-Stadt and Da Nang. This list brings both shine and challenges for the region's gastronomy.
Several remarkable restaurants were listed in the "Michelin Selected" category:
- Chicken Sticky Rice Restaurant Number One (Nguyen Trung Truc Straße, District 1)
- Crab Nood Restaurant Thuy 94 (Dinh Tien Hoang Straße, District 1)
- Restaurant Bep Nguoi Hoi (Tran Quoc Toan Straße, District 3)
The respective restaurant owners were positive about the awards. Mr. Nguyen Hieu Trung, operator of the Chicken Sticky Rice Restaurant Number One, described the renewed Michelin award as a great incentive to gain the trust of guests from home and abroad. His restaurant is known for the glue rice dish with chicken. Mr. Trung also emphasized that the prices for the adhesive rice dishes in the restaurant remain unchanged, between 30,000 and 40,000 and.
Reactions of the restaurant owners
Ms. Truc Mai, one of the owners of Thuy 94, was also pleased with recognition in the Michelin list. She sees this as a confirmation of the trust that her guests put in the restaurant. On the other hand, she announced a price increase of 10,000 and per court, which is due to come into force from January 2025. This increase is considered appropriate.
Mr. Nguyen Han Thien, owner of Bep Nguoi Hoi, expressed gratitude for the repeated recommendation. He considers the award as part of a five-year junction and emphasizes that price increases are only considered due to inflation and increasing costs, and not because of the Michelin recommendation. All three restaurant owners have also confirmed that they maintain their original business philosophy and continue to concentrate on the quality of their dishes.
Michelin star restaurants in Vietnam
In addition to the selected restaurants, there are a total of four Michelin star restaurants in Vietnam. Three of these excellent restaurants are located in Hanoi, while the fourth, Anăn Saigon, is located in Ho Chi Minh City. The Giia restaurant, led by Chef Sam Tran, has a Michelin star and offers a seasonal menu that honors Vietnam's culinary tradition.
The Michelin awards undoubtedly have a positive impact on the gastronomy in Vietnam, but also drive the discussion about prices and quality. The balancing act between maintaining high standards and the protection of accessibility for customers remains a central challenge for the restaurant owners.
