Tropical Fruit Festival 2025: A celebration of flavors and traditions in Ho Chi Minh!

On May 22, 2023, the 21st Southern Fruit Festival - Suoi Tien Farm Festival 2025 was announced, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Ho Chi Minh City and the Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company. This important festival will take place from June 1st to August 31st, 2025 and has the motto: “Agriculture to preserve the roots - Nation to preserve the soul - Integration into time”.

The festival will feature a variety of activities, including the presentation of typical southern agricultural products and traditional cultural values. Visitors can look forward to over 20 stalls offering fresh agricultural products, processed specialties and typical OCOP products from Ho Chi Minh City. Fruits on offer include Sa Pa Peach, Hanoi Plum, Dak Lak Avocado and many more.

Diverse attractions and entertainment

The Southern Fruit Festival is debuting the Ho Chi Minh City Agricultural Products Promotion Day, which will be held as part of the festival. Apart from livestreamed agricultural produce sales sessions attended by famous media personalities, numerous planned activities are also expected. These include a fruit art competition, the friendship tune and a parade show with the theme “Vietnamese agricultural products achieve international integration”. The ASEAN Harmony Festival 2025 also enriches the program.

Entertainment and culinary experiences will be provided directly at the festival by folk games, farm cultural experiences, a water festival and a food street with dishes from northern, central and southern Vietnam. Of particular note is the Specialty Fruit Market, popular for 19 years and offering hundreds of fresh tropical fruits at preferential prices.

Expectations and tourist comfort

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Southern Fruit Festival attracted between 800,000 and 1,000,000 visitors. A return of 80% of pre-pandemic visitor numbers is targeted for 2025, demonstrating the festival's prevailing appeal. In addition, the commissioning of subway line No. 1 will further increase tourist convenience, making it easier to reach the festival.

With a clear goal in mind - to promote the awareness of unique, rich and diverse tropical fruits and to honor the labor achievements of agricultural workers - the focus is on spreading the traditional art of fruit shaping. The festival is not only a cultural and tourist event, but also aims to become a symbolic event for Vietnam in Asian and global tourism.
