Tourism revolution in Lam Dong: 15 million visitors by 2025!

An important forum to promote and cooperate in tourism development in Vietnam was held on September 28, 2025. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Van Loc, director of the ministry, emphasized that the Lam Dong region is considered a low-cost tourism destination.
The main aim of this initiative is to encourage tourists to stay longer and spend more money, which is crucial for the local economy. Dr. Phan Bao Giang from the University of Economics and Finance highlighted the advantages of Phan Thiet and Da Lat, two exciting destinations within the province.

To revitalize the tourism industry in Lam Dong, a comprehensive strategy is essential. Analyzing consumer behavior plays a key role in improving tourism offerings. Support also comes from Tran Van Tan, vice president of the Dong Nai Tourism Association, who emphasizes the importance of a clear customer data system.

Forecasts and goals

For the first nine months of 2025, Lam Dong is forecast to receive 15.25 million visitors, up 17.58% year-on-year. To support this growth, targeted advertising measures through digitalization, international cooperation and participation in major events are planned.

Vietravel’s Vo Anh Tuan emphasized the need to create “touch points” for a lasting customer experience. Dr. Pham Thi Huyen from Hanoi National Economics University pointed out the fragmented tourism offerings in Lam Dong and called for a stronger connection between investors and tourist regions to create diverse experiences.

Diversification strategies

A key goal of the tourism industry is to welcome over 23 million visitors by 2025. The plan is to expand nightlife and digitally transform tourism. In addition, new products and travel destinations are being developed to diversify the tourism offering. These include beaches, amusement parks, orchards and ecotourism.

The main types of tourism in the region include resort tourism, water sports, ecotourism, community tourism and health tourism. To achieve these goals, it is necessary to fundamentally change the mindset of the tourism industry and improve the quality of service. The proposed “redesign of the tourism map” of Lam Dong aims to specifically tap the potential in Da Lat, Phan Thiet and Gia Nghia.

Overall, it is hoped that the implementation of these strategies will lead to a revitalized tourism landscape in Lam Dong and attract both local and international tourists. Further information on current developments in the tourism sector is available on Springer and the news from Vietnam.vn.
