On May 6, 2025, the tour group led the travelers to the Italian city of Trieste with CN Reisen and Bavaria Tours. Despite the rainy weather, the participants took the opportunity to explore the charms of this port city in northeastern Italy. Trieste, which is located on the Gulf of Trieste and near the Slovenian border, was formerly an economic center and flourished around 1900 with many magnificent buildings.
This living city, which is now acting as a university city and is the seat of the Roman Catholic diocese, has developed from an insignificant place in the Roman Empire into an important port city. The city coat of arms, which shows a white hook skewer, is incorrectly known as "Hallebarde" and is exhibited in the cathedral of San Giusto.

The heart of Trieste is the Piazza dell’unità d’Italia. This impressive space is the largest of Europe located by the sea and extends over more than 12,000 m². The Piazza was once known under various names, including Piazza San Pietro and Piazza Grande. Historical events that took place here include the visit of Emperor Charles VI. in 1728 and a big speech by Mussolini in 1938.
Surrounded by magnificent neoclassical buildings, some of the important sights on the Piazza of the Palazzo del Governo, the Palazzo del Municipio, the Palazzo Pitteri and the Hotel Duchi d’Aosta. A central point on the square is the fountain of Mazzoleni, which dates from 1750, as well as the pillar of Emperor Charles VI, which is reminiscent of the history of the city.

After the city visit to Trieste, the travelers continued their tour and visited the nearby Miramare Castle, which indicates the exciting history and the impressive architecture of the region. Trieste remains a fascinating goal that has travelers into the past and the cultural diversity of this unique city.
