Culture trip to the Fichtelgebirge: Discover historical treasures!

The members of the Ehingen Cultural and Home Association have recently made an exciting journey into the Bavarian region, which led them through impressive cultural landscapes and museums. The group reached the festival park in Bayreuth after a rapid journey, which was interrupted by a coffee break. There the participants had time to eat and linger before going to Warmensteinach to visit the Fichtelgebirgs glass museum. In the museum, guided tours took place by Dr. Peter Feitenschung, Gerd Lenk as well as Bettina and Josef Zaus.

A highlight of the museum visit was the glass pearl room of the artist Dorothea-Therese Plenhart, which particularly impressed the travelers. The participants in the Hotel Sonnental in Neusorg for the nights and continued their explorations the next day with a visit to the monastery church in Waldsassen. Mr. Gerald Hruby led the group through the church and explained the origin and equipment of the monastery, while the artistically carved monastery library was also visited.

After lunch at the Kapplwirt, the visit to the chapel was on the program, followed by a detour to the Stiftlandmuseum. This museum had many memorabilia ready for the childhood of visitors. On the third day, the journey to the city of Selb, where the porcelain anikone in Hohenberg was visited in the afternoon. In the directors' villa of the Carolus Magnus Hutschenreuther, the traveling showpieces and everyday dishes were able to admire and also enjoy the impressive “Pass for Porcelain”. Lunch and a coffee break took place in the Gasthaus Egerstau an der Eger.

On the way back to the hotel, the group made a detour to the RESL Neumann memorial in Konnersreuth, a tribute to regional cultural history. The last day of travel was all about the Speinshart monastery, where Frater Valentin took the group on an informative journey of discovery through the church and the monastery. A special prayer on the subject of time was performed by Ursula Dreher, Regina Rechtsteiner and Maria Traub, supported by organist Matthias Stiegler.

After a last lunch together in the Klosterhof, the group started their return trip home, interrupted by a visit to Wolframs-Eschenbach. The participants thanked their driver Willi Schrode for the safe return trip and the unforgettable experiences they had gained.

In addition to this trip, there are many other cultural highlights in the region. The glass route in Eastern Bavaria includes fascinating works of art by artists such as Magdalena Paukner, who was born in Zwiesel and lives in Lindberg. She is a state -certified glass designer and freelance artist, whose works are characterized by bright colors and filigree design. In particular, her most famous work of art, "the herb" (the old plant), is to be admired in the glass gardens, where the beautiful box of box are shown. Their products ranging from jewelry to vases to lamp umbrellas reflect the beauty of nature and enjoy great popularity.

The varied journey of the Ehingen Cultural and Home Association not only gives the participants new impressions, but also promotes understanding of the rich art and cultural landscape of this Bavarian region.
