The Tasmanian Peninsula is a spectacular place for travelers in Tasmania. Known for its untamed, rugged coasts and its rich history, there are many reasons why you should visit this remote corner of Australia.
A special attraction with great time is the remarkable cave. This untouched sea cave is located cheaply on the south coast of the Tasmanian Peninsula, near other sights such as the historical site Port Arthur, the Cape Raoul Track and Mount Brown.
In this guide, I will sketch everything you need to know about visiting the Remarkable Cave in Tasmania. Since some construction work has been carried out recently to update the website, there are some important things in this article.
Where is the remarkable cave?
The remarkable cave lies at the top of a small coastal bay between the famous Cape Raoul and Cape Pillar in the south of the Tasmanian Peninsula. The cave is accessible via a spacious and newly built parking lot about 101 kilometers (1.5 hours) from Hobart or 25 kilometers (25 minutes) from Eaglehawk Neck.
When you visit the Tasmanian Peninsula to see Port Arthur, you will also plan a trip to the Remarkable Cave, as it is only 9 minutes south on paved roads.

Apparently the stairs, which leads down to the Remarkable Cave, was formerly very steep and dodgy. However, the recent upgrades really made the cave accessible and made safe. However, be warned that it is still quite steep, but is really only important for those with chronic problems.
As soon as you have reached the bottom, you will notice the width, increased metal viewing platform. Here you can see how the water flows into and out of the cave. Unfortunately, it looks as if access to the interior of the cave has been restricted with these new upgrades.

I visited at low tide. On this day, however, there was still a considerable dune and as a result, water tore through the cave, which made access in both directions really dangerous.
About Remarkable Cave Tasmania
The remarkable cave is one of the best sandstone sea caves in Tasmania. The cliff was hollowed out by severe sea kicks for millions of years.
Most of the boulders are still under the entrance. This continues to fall by ebb and flood. It's a really great sound.
