Traditional asparagus meal: Rostock's ship brokers celebrate 35 years!

Rostock, Deutschland - In the Rostock city harbor, a traditional asparagus meal of the ship brokers from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania took place today. Around 100 guests from the ports of Wismar, Rostock, Stralsund and Mukran took part in the event. The occasion served the thanks for the previous cooperation in the development of the maritime economy. This important tradition affirms close relationships and cooperation within the maritime industry.

This year the MV shipmakler association celebrates its 35th anniversary after it was founded on October 11, 1990. The association includes 17 companies with over 100 employees, which illustrates the importance of the association in the region. The history of the ship brokers in Rostock goes back to 1737. This long tradition reflects the stability and importance of this profession.

During the GDR period, VEB Deutsche Schiffsklerei was responsible for the tasks of the ship brokers. In today's world, the association is again integrated in the Central Association of German Schiffsmakler (ZVDS), which is over 100 years old. Michael Ott, the chairman of the association and head of the RZU Rostock cement, welcomed the guests, including Dr. Alexander Geisler and Jens Knudsen from ZVDS.

The association has strengthened its activities in recent years. This also includes participation in job fairs to promote the job profile ship brokers. At these trade fairs, young people can be introduced to the purple sides of the maritime career and get to know the diverse possibilities.

At the meeting in Rostock, current developments and services of the ports in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (MV) were discussed.
