Ötztal expects a summer full of action: the highlights of 2025 at a glance!

The summer season in the Ötztal is just around the corner and begins on June 6, 2025. Exercise and relaxation – the Ötztal offers ideal conditions for both. The region, known for its breathtaking nature, attracts with a wide range of leisure options, including the wellness area in the AQUA DOME, the trails of the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN and an extensive network of over 1,600 km of hiking trails. This versatility makes the Ötztal an attractive destination for active and relaxing holidaymakers.

The Ötztal Summer Card, which is available free of charge to guests in around 400 partner establishments, offers numerous inclusive services and discounts. These include access to cable cars, swimming pools, museums and even public transport. Reduced or free admission to the AQUA DOME and AREA 47 are also available, with specific times set for free admission.

Special events and offers

The Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road opens on May 21, 2025 and is another attraction for visitors. An exciting challenge for mountain lovers is the five-day mountain tour “My first real 3,000m” to the Similaun (3,606 m), which can be booked in summer with experienced guides. The region also offers guided long-distance hiking stages, which are summarized under the terms “hut hiking” and “summit hiking”.

The newly opened Rosskopf via ferrata in Hochoetz will be inaugurated on June 22, 2025, while the Acherkogelbahn celebrates its 50th anniversary. In addition, there will be weekly sunset events in the Panorama Restaurant Hochoetz from July 18th to August 8th.

Family friendly activities

Families will also get their money's worth in Ötztal. The WIDIVERSUM offers interactive play stations for children, and the WIDIVERSUM family festival will take place on July 6, 2025. Another highlight are the weekly participatory musical theater performances with WIDI, which are aimed at younger guests.

For sports enthusiasts, there are several trail run events, including the Stuiben Trail Run in Umhausen from May 22nd to 24th, 2025 and the Gletscher Trailrun in Gurgl on July 17th and 19th, 2025. AREA 47 also offers various outdoor activities to properly open the season, starting with the Raft Battle on May 3rd, 2025.

Bike Republic and cycle paths

The BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN delights cyclists with 14 lines, 16 natural trails and 13 enduro routes, with an anniversary celebration taking place from June 19th to 22nd. Furthermore, the Ötztal cycle path runs over a 50 km long route away from traffic and therefore offers a fantastic backdrop for cycling tours in nature.

The AQUA DOME impresses with 12 indoor and outdoor pools as well as various saunas and restaurants. Lake Piburger See in Oetz is a popular recreational spot for nature lovers, while Gurgl offers high-alpine summer wellness and ideal training opportunities for athletes.

The Ötztal Summer Card can also be purchased for 3, 5, 7 or 10 days and is valid throughout the entire region. If you withdraw from the contract, all payments will be refunded within 14 days, but conditions apply.
