Creative flat rate?
But the big question mark that hovered over my head quickly dissolved. The creative flat rate ofhttps://www.tutkit.com, an e-learning platform.
Specifically, there are tutorials, video training, templates and much more about graphics and web design, photography, 3D and motion design and office programs.
I hated learning at school. It must have been like that. Today I like to study. Especially things that I enjoy.
At the moment I devote myself more to photography and image editing. Of course, also suitable for blogging, because the pictures for the articles are not simply from heaven.
Then the test offer from Stefan, one of the founders of tutkit.com, was just right.
What does tutkit.com include?
old = "tutkit"
There are currently over 7000 tutorials and more than 12,000 presets/templates online. So quite a bit. There are not new ones every day, but at least one or more times a week.
The content is divided into the following categories: templates & presets, 3D & motion design, photography, graphic design, office marketing, software and web design. For me, only photography, graphic design and the templates are relevant for me.
Since I have only used Linux since 2003, the selection is of course a bit smaller for me than for others.
I was all the more surprising that courses on the subject of Gimpe were also offered. In my view, more about image and video editing as well as photography under Linux would be desirable. But what is not can still be.
What does the creative flat rate cost?
Of course there is no flat rate for free. Even if some would like that in their free internet mentality.
The prices are very moderate in view of the lush selection. It starts at € 9.95 per month. Of course with a few restrictions that should not be relevant for many.
There are discounts for pupils, students, trainees, job seekers, seniors/pensioners (from 60) and people with disabilities. These receive a 20 % discount.
Of course, there is also the possibility to test the whole thing for free.
How does tutkit.com work?

The whole thing takes place regardless of the operating system on a website. So you can easily access the content from home. Via smartphone, tablet or PC.
My experiences with the creative flat rate of tutkit.com
After registration and completion of the desired package, you can start right away.
I chose the course smartphone photography and image processing for testing. It contains a total of 28 videos, which are divided into 5 chapters.
The videos are short, but convey a lot of knowledge. I have been using the apps Lightroom Mobile and Snapseed used there for a long time. Still, I could learn a lot.
Do you know that too?
They have been using an app for a long time and believe that they are familiar with it. But then you will be taught better.
My workflow has improved and the functions with which I edit photos have expanded. But everyone can work on. The course is also about photography itself.
That means just turn on your head in front of the picture and consider whether everything fits. Many will now say: "If the picture doesn't work, I just delete it".
It's right! I've done that so far.
Before I take the photo, I think about questions such as: "Could the perspective be changed?" Does the object look better in the middle or should I use the golden cut? What do I want to show anyway? "
I never really bothered to think about all of these things before. I just clicked on it. With the effect that I had about 4000 pictures after a vacation. A nightmare for everyone who has to look at something like this.
Of course, the result is certainly also a matter of taste. In any case, I like the edited much better.
In addition to the smartphone photography course, I also looked at the course editing with GIMP: the practical tutorial.
This consists of 36 videos with a total term of 9.5 hours. In addition to the beginner bases, advanced lessons are also included, such as working with layer masks.
I have already worked with levels, but by no means as intensive as it is done there.
This is just a small selection of the attempts that I tried during the course. Now of course it is time to practice and deepen what you have learned.
If necessary, I watch the video again, which brings us to the advantages and disadvantages of further training over the Internet:
I can determine the progress of learning and speed myself
I can press a break at any time, for example to try something
I can repeat individual chapters at any time
I determine the course times myself
I don't have to go anywhere (and get stuck in the traffic jam)
I can watch the videos as often as I want
Of course there are also disadvantages. The learning progress is not controlled by a lecturer and there is no contact for questions. But that is not important to me in private further training.
My conclusion
A really inexpensive way to train yourself online. The number of tutorials and courses offered is huge and continues to grow every week.
A clear recommendation for everyone who wants to learn something new regardless of time and place.
Did it make me more creative?
Yes, it has.
In any case, when I look at the photos in my Instagram feed and here in the blog. Now it is still time to practice, practice, practice and try something new every day.
If you want to try the whole thing, you can of course test it for free beforehand.
