The stay on Picnic Island is really a secluded private island experience. Although the island is only a few minutes away from Coles Bay, you feel here as if you were miles away from the rest of the world. There is enough space for activities and explorations on almost a hectare area, but still keeps a withdrawn charm.

Where is Picnic Island and how do you get there?

Picnic Island is located on the Freycinet Peninsula, less than a kilometer from the coast of Coles Bay. It lies opposite the Muirs Beach in the north and offers an unrestricted view of the mighty Hazards mountain chain in the east.

As I mentioned, visitors can only reach Picnic Island if they have booked accommodation here. A water taxi transfer arranged in advance is included in the booking and drives off the Garnet Ave boat ramp in Coles Bay.
