On June 29, 2025, three Bötzowers will start their 2,500 km long adventure trip in the old Volvo V70 at the Carbage Run through the Baltics.

Three people from Bötzow are preparing for an extraordinary journey of 2,500 kilometers through the Baltics. Daniel Borowski, Sebastian Püngel and Mathias Kücken have signed up for this year's Carbage Run registered, which starts on June 29th in Poland. This rally is designed for “junk cars” that cost no more than 1,000 euros and must be at least 20 years old. Her vehicle, a 22-year-old Volvo V70 with 489,000 kilometers already driven, has been re-wrapped and is presented in the colors of the Mexican flag.
The challenge, involving around 500 cars and 1,200 participants from across Europe, will run from June 29th to July 3rd. The route runs through the countries of Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, covering distances of 400 to 500 kilometers every day. The Bötzowers have chosen to self-cater and sleep in tents, which adds to the adventure aspect of this trip.
A very special experience

Every day the participants set different tasks, through which points can be collected. Breakdowns are part of the experience and there is no roadside assistance, encouraging participants to support each other.
The campsites along the route are simple but offer sanitary facilities. Participation costs 487 euros for two people, while additional participants can be booked for 68 euros. A ticket price of 98 euros per person is charged for overnight stays in the campsites. The event is sold out; So the Bötzowers are lucky to have got a place.
Competition with prizes
The rally also includes a competitive aspect with various prizes. This is how the best teams receive awards: The first prize is 1,000 euros, followed by 500 euros for second place and 250 euros for third place. In addition, an originality prize of 500 euros will be awarded, and teams with overpriced cars will have the opportunity to speak during the awards ceremony.
