The Tam Duong District youth organization in Vietnam shows how young people can actively contribute to the development of rural areas. These initiatives contribute significantly to improving more than 90 km of roads between and within villages.

Social and environmental initiatives

The youth organization's activities go beyond road expansion. 55 garbage pits and 7 new mini-incinerators were built. Likewise, 10 playgrounds were built in kindergartens and cultural centers in villages. Such projects not only promote a sense of community, but also improve the quality of life locally.

The district's youth have also launched numerous environmental initiatives. This includes the organization of “Volunteer Saturdays” and “Green Sundays,” during which over 35,500 participants took action to clean the environment and plant more than 50,000 flowers and trees. These measures not only improve infrastructure, but also promote awareness of the region's environment and cultural identity.

Vocational training and economic development

The programs designed by the Tam Duong District Youth Union also include economic development. In recent years, two new youth cooperatives have been founded and start-up models in agriculture and tourism have been developed. Over 40 career advice sessions were held to provide information about training opportunities to more than 5,900 young people.
