Happy Vietnam 2025: Photos show the country’s moments of happiness”

On June 12, 2025, the “Happy Vietnam – Happy Vietnam 2025” award will be presented, a significant event organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnamese Association of Photographic Artists and Vietnamese Television. This competition invites not only Vietnamese in the country but also abroad and international friends to submit their creative works with the theme “Happy Vietnam”. The aim of the prize is to promote positive representations of Vietnam, its culture and historical traditions in order to create a broader understanding of the country.

A high turnout is expected as artists are encouraged to capture everyday, happy moments from life in Vietnam. An example of this initiative is the foreign photographer Raymond Kuschert, who has provided impressive insights into Vietnamese culture. His photographic work includes shots of a woman collecting lotus flowers in Binh Duong and a monument commemorating the Battle of Long Tan.

Cultural values and international integration

The “Happy Vietnam” award strongly aims to promote Vietnam’s cultural and natural values. The work presented is also intended to reflect the country's progress in the areas of innovation and international integration. By distributing these creative works, it is hoped to provide valuable information and reach a global audience.

In the context of Vietnam's cultural identity, a seminar was recently held in Hanoi, organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture. The influence of international cultures on Vietnamese culture was discussed. Participants discussed the integration of cultures from South Korea, China and Japan and emphasized the need to further strengthen one's own cultural identity.

Future-oriented cultural activities

The discussions highlighted the importance of developing a plan for cultural activities consistent with Vietnamese traditions. In addition, the further training of those responsible in the cultural sector was considered crucial in order to be able to better master the challenges of cultural integration.

Overall, it shows that the “Happy Vietnam – Happy Vietnam 2025” prize is not only a platform for creative expression, but also an opportunity to reflect on Vietnam’s cultural identity in the context of a globalizing world.
