K2 base bearing equipment list: Everything you need for a successful hike
Our extensive K2 base bearing equipment list contains everything you need for this epic hike to the second highest mountain in the earth
I just returned from my K2 base bearing hike in Pakistan and thought it would be helpful to share my complete K2-based equipment list as a reference point for future trekkers.
I joined Lost Horizon Tours and Treks on a hike to the K2 base camp, combined with a technical crossing of the Gondogoro La Pass. Lost Horizons provides the entire camping, cooking and technical equipment (ropes, ice axle and crampons), but hikers have to bring their own sleeping bags, trekking equipment, clothing and personal items.
It is possible to buy some equipment in Skardu or Islamabad, but I would advise you to do all your purchases before you leave the house to avoid emergencies at the last minute.
some new little things
I had most things before, but I treated myself to a few new items. First there was a few new hiking shoes. Two of my favorite outdoor brands (Sherpa and Keen) worked together to make the Innate hiking boots made of leather. The boots are light, breathable and extremely comfortable, especially in hot climates. Keen also donates € 15 from every sale to support the literacy of children in Nepal.

I upgraded my trekking sticks to a few ultra -light folding rocks from Leki, which can be snapped up super quickly. I also wrapped a new outdoorVital sleeping bag with front opening, which is easier and more water-repellent with a mixture of loftek and down filling.

After all, I treated myself to a few Skinners sock shoes. During my last hike on the Arctic Circle Trail, I did not pack a suitable footwear for the river crossings. The Skinners turned out to be priceless in Pakistan. In fact, I have now added it to the "Essentials" section of my trekking table. (Yes, I have a spreadsheet and I am not ashamed of it ...)

At the moment, very few current Pakistan travel guides are available. Therefore, we recommend the waterproof Karakorum trekking card from Terraquest in scale 1: 175,000.
