Arrival to Ton Chong Fa Waterfall
Getting to Ton Chong Fa from Khao Lak is pretty easy. Similar to Sai Rung Waterfall, it only takes about 15 minutes to reach. The best thing to do is to rent your own scooter and take the dirt road into the mountains behind Khao Lak.
From the main road, take the side street next to Khrua Khun Udom restaurant. There is a small sign showing the direction to the waterfall. Follow this up the steep mountain path for about 7 km until you reach the first waterfall pool.
You can also hike to the falls, which takes over an hour but is worth it. The road leading to Ton Chong Fa is lined with banana trees, farms and patches of dense jungle.

What to Expect at Ton Chong Fa
Performance and water quantity depend on the season. During the monsoon months the water flows so heavily that the waterfall is often closed due to dangerous flows. On the other hand, in drier months, visitors may find the waterfall completely dry.
Remember that you have to pay a government tax of 200 THB to visit Ton Chong Fa. I found this particularly steep, but worth it if you're a fan of waterfalls as they don't get much better near Khao Lak.

Check the five levels
Although most waterfalls are similar in height and power, it's still worth checking out the higher levels. All waterfalls are approximately medium in size, around 10m for the largest. If you're looking to escape the heat, levels one, two, three and four also offer a decent-sized swimming area beneath the falls.
Unfortunately, most of these pools were full of wood and jungle debris from the monsoon storms when I was there.
Getting to the top level only takes about 20 minutes on foot. However, you can easily spend a day looking at the different levels while stopping by each one.
