If you are in Koh Tao, you are already aware of the epic underwater world that surrounds the island. A certain marine life that seems to catch a little more difficult is the black-tip reef shark.
Embora esses meninos às vezes visitem os locais de mergulho populares ao redor da ilha, eles podem ser vistos regularmente quando sabem quando e onde precisam pesquisar. Continue lendo para descobrir onde você pode nadar com tubarões em Koh Tao.
Where are the black-top reef sharks on Koh Tao?
Os tubarões de recife de ponta preta em Shark Bay, também conhecidos como praia de Haad Tien, geralmente são superfícies de areia rasas entre menos de 1 m e 10 m. Shark Bay is located at the southern end of the island of Koh Tao, right behind Chalok. The easiest way to get there is to park your bike in the Taatoh Seaview Resort and go down the windy cliff paths until you reach the water.
As soon as you have reached the reason, simply swim out to the shallows and look for this black fin! Some of the young sharks in Koh Tao are very small, only about 60 cm long! But keep an eye out, because we often saw a few up to 1.5 m long, sometimes up to four at once that circled us. Although this sharks can be found everywhere in the bay, we found that we would rather discover it in the area shown below.
go early
Many people I talked to were sure that there was no sharks on Koh Tao, which is definitely not true. You can see sharks in Koh Tao every day, but it is important to walk between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. early in the morning. It seems that the sharks only visit the bay at this time in the morning, which means getting up early if they really want to catch them!
keep an eye out for turtles
Turtle Island is no longer the refuge for turtles as before. Many have emigrated to other smaller islands nearby to escape the diving masses. However, it is still common to find large sleeping or crossing turtles in the quiet protected area of Shark Bay. When the sharks have broken up for the day, they swim a little deeper and look for the relaxed guys. Remember to give you some space and let you enjoy the relative rest of this hidden jewel.

I hope that this short guide for snorkeling with reef sharks on Koh Tao was helpful. Remember, always respect the wildlife and only go into the water with sharks if you feel comfortable and have experience. If not, I would recommend avoiding them entirely.
