Big Expo in Hanoi: Celebrating 80 years of Vietnam's achievements!
Significant events are coming up in Vietnam on May 31, 2025: On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the national holiday, the country is planning an extensive exhibition on its socio-economic achievements. The event will take place from August 28 to September 6, 2025 at the newly built National Exhibition and Fair Center in Hanoi. This center is intended as a modern event center to present both national and international achievements of the last 80 years and is being realized with the support of Vingroup Corporation.
The Deputy Prime Minister has called on the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to carefully plan key aspects of this exhibition, such as theme, content and layout. The aim is to present Vietnam's socio-economic development over the last eight decades in an honest and vivid way, especially the progress from 2021 to 2025. A first report will be sent to the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee by June 3, 2025.
Progress of the National Exhibition Center
The construction of the National Exhibition Center, which began with the laying of the foundation stone on August 30, 2023 in Dong Anh District, has made great progress in the past nine months. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the construction on May 19 and called for the work to be accelerated to ensure the on-time opening on September 2, 2025, coinciding with the National Day. The center is expected to be the second largest exhibition hall in the world and the largest in Asia, covering a total area of 90 hectares.
The interior design of the National Exhibition Center is inspired by the Golden Turtle, an important cultural symbol of Vietnam. The indoor exhibition area will be divided into nine sections, with each section covering more than 10,000 m². The central hall will offer around 7,000 m² of space. In addition, the center is strategically located on Hanoi's main transport routes, which offers easy accessibility, including via planned metro lines.
Technological innovations and future perspectives
The National Exhibition Center will be equipped with modern technologies, including 3D mapping, virtual reality experiences, multimedia audiovisual works and digital technologies. These innovative approaches are intended to enrich the exhibition and inspire visitors. After the opening, the city of Hanoi also plans to develop the city's transport infrastructure to further increase the attractiveness of the center.
The outdoor facilities will also be extensively designed, with water features and green spaces as well as four outdoor exhibition parks on a total of 20.6 hectares. These improvements fall under the long-term goals of making the center a world-class exhibition venue that promotes the cultural and entertainment industry and develops high-quality tourism products.
All ministries, municipalities and relevant organizations are invited to participate in the upcoming exhibition, which will serve as an ongoing platform to strengthen Vietnam's global profile. The project therefore represents not only a celebration of the past, but also a path into the future that combines modern technologies and cultural identity.
In summary, with the Socio-Economic Achievements Exhibition and the National Exhibition Center, Vietnam is taking significant steps towards a modern and future-oriented society. Further information can be found on the websites of Vietnam.vn and Eine-Reise.de.
