Aroya Cruises: New course to Greece and Egypt from Istanbul!
Galataport Istanbul, Türkei - Araya Cruises started his first cruise to Istanbul on Thursday. For the coming season, the city was selected as the central Mediterranean base of the shipping company. The arrival of the ship in Galataport is planned for June 20, 2025, with attempts in the popular destinations Kaş and Bodrum. The first regular cruise itself begins on June 28th after routine technical maintenance.
The cruises include offers that extend over six to seven days and take place in the eastern Mediterranean. The harbor cities approached include Marmaris, Athens, Mykonos, Rhodes, Souda Bay and Alexandria. The routes combine both heavily frequented holiday destinations and an Arabic -oriented on -board concept. This Mediterranean season is the first of the shipping company in European waters after trips in the Red Sea, where over 70,000 passengers were welcomed.
growing ambitions in Europe
The selection of Galataport Istanbul as the main starting port is a strategic step for aroya cruises. Dr. Jörg Rudolph, President of Aroya, was positive about the choice of this modernized cruise terminal. Galataport is characterized by the world's first underground cruise terminal, which comprises an area of 29,000 square meters and processes all passenger and luggage operations underground. The central location and modern infrastructure of the port make it attractive for large cruise providers.
In the new season, weekly departures are to take place until mid-September, and the shipping company expects around 90,000 passengers for 2025. Lars Claasen, CEO of Cruise Saudi, the parent company of Aroya Cruises, manages international expansion, supported by its over 30 years of experience in the industry. The combination of established travel destinations and a regional profile should help to address new target groups.
a unique experience on board
The ship from Aroya Cruises offers a variety of attractions, including 29 restaurants, 20 entertainment sites, a large theater, a world-class spa and two pools. Particularly noteworthy is the play area for children, which is one of the largest in the industry. The focus on Arabic hospitality and cultural elements is intended to attract international customers and support tourist development in the region. Cruise passengers that Istanbul use as a home port create economic activities that are up to six times higher than that of regular tourists.
With this strategic orientation and the choice of Galataport as the main starting point, Aroya Cruises strives to be a clear positioning in the European market and goes hand in hand with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
