New direct flights from Munich: Seville, Naples and more from July 2025!

From July 2025, the range of flights from Munich Airport will be significantly expanded. Lufthansa City Airlines has announced that it will be adding six new destinations to its summer flight schedule. This brings the total number of flight destinations that can be reached directly from Munich to 212. tz.de reports that all new routes will be served by the modern Airbus 1320 Neo.

The new destinations include Seville, which will be served daily from July 2025, and a future connection to Alicante with six flights per week from October 2025. In addition, Naples will be served daily from August 2025, with a planned increase to up to 20 flights per week in September. Catania airports in Sicily and Sofia airports in Bulgaria will also receive daily connections, while Bucharest will receive twice-daily services from October 2025.

Expansion of flight offerings

In addition to the above destinations, the summer schedule will also include destinations such as Barcelona, Dublin, Oulu, Paris and Rome. These new connections will be introduced gradually and are expected to increase the number of weekly flights from Munich to up to 122 by July 2025. The flights are all operated under the VL codes of the regional airline, reports Frankfurtflyer.

Lufthansa City Airlines also plans to modernize its fleet by replacing the existing aircraft with Airbus A319 and A320neo. The 2024/25 winter flight schedule will initially focus on domestic feeder connections as well as some international routes. Existing routes to cities such as Berlin, Birmingham and Bordeaux will be retained, but some of them will be flown with a change in aircraft type.

The expansion of the flight schedule and the switch to Lufthansa City Airlines are part of a long-term cost optimization strategy that is intended to differentiate itself from the traditional Lufthansa CityLine. Passengers can look forward to a variety of new travel experiences when the new flight connections come into effect.
