Holidays in southern Europe are becoming more and more attractive for German travelers. In many countries in southern and eastern Europe, tourists can currently find significantly cheaper holiday prices than at home. According to the Federal Statistical Office, hotels and restaurants in Albania, North Macedonia and Bulgaria are around 50 percent cheaper than in Germany. This allows travelers to make significant savings on-site and potentially even get more vacation days into their budget. Portugal and Turkey are also recommended destinations, with savings of around 35 percent and 31 percent respectively compared to German prices.
A particularly noteworthy destination is the Turkish south coast, where places like Side and Alanya are considered very inexpensive. Turkey is also very popular with long-term vacationers, especially in winter. The cities of Çorum, Erzurum, Kayseri and Elazig in Turkey also offer affordable options for a city trip. In contrast, Nordic countries such as Iceland, Denmark and Norway are known for their high prices, while Switzerland is considered the most expensive holiday destination with an average premium of 52 percent over German prices. In Austria, France and Italy, however, German tourists find prices similar to those at home.
Online shopping experience with Samsung and Shopee
In another sector, Samsung Brasil announced an interesting partnership on August 14th. The company is launching an official Samsung store on the Shopee platform, accessible to many consumers. Used by a third of Brazil's population every month, Shopee aims to provide users with a simple, secure and fun shopping experience.
The new Samsung store will be part of the Lojas Oficiais section on Shopee, which includes over 800 major brands. The range includes products from the Galaxy ecosystem, including A-series smartphones, new Samsung Vision AI QLED 4K TVs, monitors, air conditioners and washing machines. The partnership aims to strengthen brand presence and increase product visibility through retail media solutions on Shopee.
Additionally, Samsung will participate in various Shopee campaigns, including the “Super Ofertas” promotion, which offers exclusive prizes. Customers can benefit from benefits such as vouchers for free shipping and special purchasing conditions.
