The new Ford Tourneo Custom: The off-road camper for adventurers!

Today vanexxt GmbH presented an innovative, modular furniture concept for the Ford Tourneo Custom Active. The presentation of the new vehicles will take place at the “Abenteuer & Allrad” trade fair in Bad Kissingen, which is open from June 19th to 22nd, 2025. CEO Laurenz Krieger points to the success of the first off-road camper, which was based on the VW T6.1, and sees this as the basis for the latest project, which is designed for flexibility and adaptability. The company, headquartered in Breitengüßbach, aims to offer a wider range of camping solutions.

vanexxt GmbH, founded in 2022 as a joint venture between BusBoxx and DriveDressy, has set itself the goal of developing the Ford Tourneo Custom V710 into one of the most flexible vehicles in Europe. This flexibility is reflected in collaboration with well-known accessory brands such as Streetec, Terranger and Delta4x4 to create an extensive range of modules for various applications.

Modularity and flexibility

The interior concept uses a modular design that can be tailored to the individual needs of users. The basic equipment of the camper includes camper electronics, a rail floor and a small hob in the rear. In addition, various expansion options are available, including a 230 V power supply, an 800 W individual hotplate and prepared connections for a second battery.

  • Level 1 Expansion:
    • 230-V Stromanschluss und Steckdose
    • 800-W Einzelkochplatte
    • Vorverdrahtung für eine zweite Batterie
    • Gooseneck-Leseleuchten
    • Faltbarer Outdoor-Tisch mit Stuhlset
  • Level 2 Expansion (inklusive aller Level 1 Features):
    • Campingheizung
    • Touchscreen zur Steuerung von Beleuchtung und Heizung
    • Doppelt-Zonen-Klimaanlage
    • Trailerkupplung mit elektrischer Vorbereitung
    • Erweiterte Fahrassistenzmerkmale

Optionally, a Reimo pop-up roof with a 44" x 76" mattress can be added. In terms of seating options, both three-seat folding bench seats and individual driver's seats are available, accommodating up to seven passengers and providing room for up to four adults to sleep.

Chassis and off-road options

The chassis of the Ford Tourneo Custom is equipped with a 170 hp diesel engine and all-wheel drive. Customers benefit from two off-road suspension options offered by STREETEC: an air suspension with auto-leveling function and a coilover suspension that can be adapted to the camping equipment. Terranger also offers a lift kit for a static lift of 30 mm.

Attachments such as underbody protection, rock sliders, recovery eyes, rear racks and roof racks are available from Terranger for recreational use. The overall package is complemented by Delta4x4 rims (18 inches) and Loder AT#1 tires, which once again focus on the camper's off-road capabilities.

The introduction of the Ford Tourneo Custom V710 in the camper sector aims to meet the needs of different user groups, be it for leisure, work or school activities. This all-rounder is designed to eliminate the need for a second vehicle while offering the optimal combination of functionality and comfort. The price for the basic model starts at just under 54,440 euros, while a fully equipped Level 2 camper costs up to 80,318 euros. The expansive modularity and the variety of customization options could revolutionize the mobile home market New Atlas reported.
