Map of Senggigi's best beaches
What kind of Lombok beach guide would it be without a quick and useful map? Here are the Google Pin locations of my top five favorite Senggigi beaches so you can find them. If you're looking for it yourself, you might find it helpful to know that the Indonesian word for beach is pantai. As a result, for example, many of the Google Pin locations have the Indonesian name; Pantai Nipa.

5 of the best Senggigi beaches and how to find them
To get to these beaches around Senggigi, you can either rent your own motorbike or pay for transportation. If you are unsure about a fair transport price, you can always check Grab or Gojek to help you negotiate or simply use it to book.
However, the Senggigi coastal road is one of my favorite parts of Lombok. Trust me, you'll probably want to drive this yourself. This also allows you to stop at several Senggigi beaches at your own pace. I paid IDR 70,000 for an almost new Honda Beat with a full tank, which I thought was good value for money.
So, with that out of the way, let’s get into the list of the best Senggigi beaches.
Senggigi Beach
If you are staying near the main tourist area of Senggigi Beach, Senggigi Beach is the closest beach. If you want to swim and relax under palm trees then this is great as you can literally walk here.
The beach is a deep, wide bay with several boats moored further out. At the southern end there is a wide point with a surrounding reef that makes its way into the sea. It may be a little too shallow to swim here, but it's still an impressive sight. I couldn't help but power up the drone to get a better view from above.

Nipah Beach
My favorite beach in Senggigi is Nipah Beach. To get here you need to take the scenic coastal road north, about 20 minutes from Senggigi. However, you should probably allow a little extra time as there are some incredible viewpoints on the way to Nipah Beach.
Nipah Beach is a wide white sand beach surrounded by vast fields of symmetrical coconut palms. The shore is dotted with low-hanging palm trees and stranded fishing boats. When I came here in September, there were almost no other tourists on the entire beach. To get into the water, walk or ride through a magical field of coconut trees. This is perfect for taking some tropical photos.
On a calm day, Nipah Beach is great for swimming and snorkeling. The water's edge is sandy in most places, so you won't trample coral. However, if you swim a little further into the bay at Nipah Beach, there are plenty of healthy hard corals for snorkeling.

Malimbu Beach
Famous for the high, palm-covered viewpoint on the hill, Malimbu Beach is also one of Senggigi's best beaches for swimming.
This is slightly rounder and deeper than Nipah Beach, and you'll almost certainly have it to yourself. My recommendation is to find a spot at the southern end of the beach, just after the steep descent from Malimbu Hill.
Here you will find a private little oasis in the shade of tall palm trees. It's an epic place to spend the afternoon and definitely deserves its place on this list of the best Senggigi beaches. Also before or after visiting Malimbu Beach, you may want to visit Hill Viewpoint, which is the highest point on the Senggigi coast.

Pandanan Beach
Another secluded spot around Senggigi is Pandanan Beach. After Nipah Beach, Pandanan comes second for me. Although it is the furthest beach from Senggigi on this list, it is arguably the most beautiful and peaceful.
Similar to most other Senggigi beaches, Pandanan Beach also has its fair share of coconut trees. The water is crystal clear and without rows of moored fishing boats. This makes it a great place to swim and really relax.
At Pandanan Beach there are only a few small warungs and a few locals selling coconuts. So if you're hungry, grab a coconut for 15,000 RP or a nasi balap on the beach.

Kerandangan Beach
Looking for a black sand beach of Senggigi? One of Lombok's unique features is that there is a mix of white, pink and black sand beaches in relatively close proximity.
Just around the corner from Senggigi Beach is Kerandangan Beach. This is a long, wide black sand beach with a few warungs and an attached resort. I expect the shade of black changes from time to time, but I found that the southern corner had the darkest black sand on the beach.
Aside from the unique black sand, my favorite part of Kerandangan Beach is the perfectly symmetrical palm plantation behind it. While almost all Senggigi beaches have lots of palm trees, this one is probably the best for getting some epic shots on the bike.

Where to stay in Senggigi – accommodation guide
MY ACCOMMODATION IN SENGGIGI: OYO 645 Green AsriIn Senggigi, I stayed in this small hotel with a pool, huge bathroom and TV for just $9 per night. I'm not sure if it was a low season special, but it's definitely the best value in Senggigi for this price. It's a little off the main beat, but definitely worth it. If you book here, don't miss Henry, the street vendor around the corner. He makes some of the best spiced coffees I've ever tasted and offers hotel-class meals for IDR 12,000.
CHEAPEST AND BEST VALUE HOST FAMILY – Sammy HomestaySammy Homestay is the best ranked homestay in Senggigi. It's just around the corner in Mangsit, just a few minutes' walk from Senggigi Beach. A double room costs $8 and includes breakfast. The rooms are some of the largest in the area and the owners are super friendly and helpful.
CLIFF BEACH SUNSET VIEWS FOR UNDER $40: Pasific Beach Cottages If I had a higher budget in Senggigi, this is the place I would have booked. It is located on the cliff near Senggigi Beach, where you can enjoy the view from your balcony or the pool. In terms of value, this is as good as you might find in all of Lombok.
